The Visitor's Church for over a century

Good Works

Both the Old and New Testaments are very clear about what a person must do to live a fulfilled life. Over and over again God directs his faithful people to: feed the hungry, care for the widow, have compassion for the homeless and mentally ill, visit those in prison; Doing one or more of these needs to be a part of our spiritual practice.  The highly recommended way to practice this aspect of faith formation is to get directly involved as a worker or volunteer.  But, if you absolutely do not have time, or if you are in some way disabled, then contribute your money.  Organizations working with the poor, the homeless and mentally ill, prisoners in jail and their families would welcome any amount.

The FOOD CLOSET OF CAPE MAY is an ecumenical 30 year venture of many churches on and beyond our island.  Volunteers distribute food to persons with marginal incomes twice a month from its store in the basement of our church.  For more information about how you can be involved contact Tina Johnson at
